Job Description
We are looking for an experienced cloud architect to build upon and develop our growing cloud infrastructure. As the lead architect you will also be an active member of the individual development teams when needed.
Your responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the overall cloud strategy for the organization
- Collaborate with development teams on the needs and requirements for our cloud solutions
- Design and implement cloud architectures that are scalable, secure and cost-effective
- Managing and optimizing our cloud resources, including monitoring usage and cost
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards
- Provide guidance and code reviews for fellow developers
- Align direction of code and other engineering best practices together with the software team
Our platform and ways of working
The platform is based on micro services and deployed on Kubernetes. We use GitOps practices throughout all the processes utilizing tools and services like: ArgoCD, GitHub, Kubernetes, Datadog, Backstage and LaceWork. We rely heavily on automation to make this work. Software teams are responsible for their own services end to end. We use the shape-up development methodology in the software teams.

- Cassandra, Postgres, MySQL, InfluxDB, ArangoDB
Requirements
- 3+ Years professional experience working with cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Experience with containerization technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing secure cloud environments.
- Familiarity with GitOps practices
- Strong English communication skills
- Computer Science or information technology degree or experience to match
- Working from Faroe Islands or Iceland
